Dear Friends,
First, 1 big thing: Thank you for coming out to vote!
Incredible turnout so far in the 141st district! Around 40% of voters have already cast their ballots through absentee or early voting. While these votes won’t be counted until Election Day, it’s inspiring to see such strong participation!

Setting the record straight
My opponent recently sent out a misleading mailer. I won’t engage in negativity, but I believe it’s important to clarify my record. In my first term, I proposed several key bills that were successfully passed to benefit our community. I’m also proud to have earned a 100% rating from the Connecticut Business & Industry Association (CBIA) for my voting record. Here are some highlights:
Key Bills Passed:
Opioid Antagonist Access: HB 6090 (Public Act 23-52) – Increased Narcan access through vending machines for vulnerable populations.
Emergency Contraception: HB 5197 (Public Act 23-52) – Expanded access to over-the-counter emergency contraception and enabled pharmacists to prescribe oral contraception.
Cannabis Regulation: HB 5345 (Public Act 23-79) – Strengthened cannabis regulations to ban synthetic THC and enforce clear labeling, protecting children.
Expanding Teacher Availability: PA 23-167 – Allowed part-time college professors to gain certification to teach in high schools, addressing teacher shortages.
Securing Funding for Schools: HB 5524 – Secured bond funding for Darien’s Hindley, Holmes, and Royle Elementary School projects, supporting our community’s educational needs.
Stopping harmful legislation
My work doesn’t stop at passing bills—I also push back on legislation that could negatively impact our towns:
Protected local decision-making by opposing zoning laws that would override town authority.
Blocked the decriminalization of psilocybin (magic mushrooms) to prioritize community safety.
Looking ahead
I’m committed to continuing efforts on key initiatives that didn’t pass this term:
Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy screening as part of newborn screenings.
Holding our energy provider accountable for excessive tree cutting.
Thank you for your trust and support as I seek re-election to keep our district’s voice strong in Hartford.
Warm regards,
Tracy Marra
